Flandre was right: the houses all look the same and it's rather dull. She's used to living somewhere that stands out from the rest of the world, so it was time to make this place a little more like home!

[ Meiling is just picking up a 'few' supplies for her home landscaping projects. Hoes, spades, buckets, etc. You would think she couldn't carry this all by herself, but she's stronger than she looks. Just... don't be behind her when she turns around or you just might get a face full of a shovel or a rake!

Poke her? Help her shop? Wonder why the shopkeeper is giving her the cold shoulder after noticing the star on her hat,? ]

[Action : 340 Brady Lane]
[ In front of the house, Meiling is busy laying some stone for a new pathway, boxes for flowers, new wooden borders for the bushes, and in general working hard at tearing up the yard. (She already napped at work, hence all the energy!) She's wearing a pair of overalls, heavy gloves, a plaid shirt, and enough dirt to need three showers later.

Bother her? Help out? She'll be at this for a few days. Weekend taggers have the added chance of catching her taking a rest at midday~ ]

[ She smiles big. ] I hope so! I just couldn't stand of thinking of this place without some flowers. And soon, Miss Flandre will be able to see our yard from all the way down the street!

-Patchouli chuckles.- Perhaps flowers that match her wings in color.

[ Snapping her fingers. ] Ohh, I didn't even think about that! I think it'd take some work, but maybe I can get lucky with the selection at the flower shop.

The arrangement would be worth it, though.

I think she'd love it. A little treat to make her stay in this place better.

[ She looks down at the ground at her feet. ] Exactly. Whatever little things will help, while we wait for the chance to get out.

[ Speaking of, she sets her tools down and vaults up to the edge of the porch, peering down at Patchouli. ] Hey, that reminds me!

[ooc: Going to assume this is on, say, Friday instead of the first day of her working on this, if that's alright with you?]

Hmm? Reminds you of what?

Do you think Flandre would like to go to the dance that's coming up, too? It might be a good chance for her to meet lots of new people! [ It'll either do that, or overload her brain. She is on the fence about that - just as she's leaning on the railing. ] What do you think?

You're on your own, in that case.

..what do you mean? You're not going?

Of course I'm not.

Why not? If she's going, we should be there to watch her.

I refuse. You should be fine caring for her on your own.

[ Leaning in. ] Come onnnn... What's the matter?

Nothing. I don't want to go.

Why not? It could be fun! Even if you won't dance or anything. [ She hops up and sits on the railing, feet dangling. ] You could introduce me to some people that way. Doing it myself has been... kind of hit-or-miss.

I'm not going and that is final!

[ She recoils at the shout. Enough to almost tip back up and over the railing.

Fortunately, Meiling's nothing if not good with her balance. ] It's not like you to not have a reason for something...

I just don't want to! Isn't that reason enough?

[ Just how old was she supposed to be, again?

Meiling pouts a bit. ] ...I guess...

Is it because you don't have a dress? [ There HAS to be some reason. ]

We're not having this conversation. -She shuts her book and gets up, huffing as she moves to go back inside.-

[ Sheesh, you'd think she was asking her to go stick her head in a dragon's mouth or something.

Meiling let out a whine. ] N-no, wait!! Miss Patchouli! Miss Patch--oowaaah! [ Crash! She shouldn't have waved her arms around like that to get her friend's attention, because now she's nothing more than a heap at the foot of the porch; luckily, there was a mound of freshly dug-up dirt there for her to land on. ] Ow...

-That stops her, at least.- Oh my... Are you alright, Meiling?

[ She rolls off of the pile and stops upright, legs out, arms on her head. The smile is whimsical, if embarrassed. ] It takes a lot more than that to stop me! [ She's scraped a few things, but she'll live. ]

You need to be more careful.

[ Meiling rolls back a bit, and then leaps to her feet. The way she's standing triumphantly, you'd think she had just won a fight or something.

'cept for that wince. ] No, I'm good! Really! [ Wiping at her forehead. ] It's time for a break, anyhow...
